Discovering Monterey by land has never been more fun! What better way to get out and see the sights than hopping on a bicycle and pedaling along the shoreline?
Your adventure by land will start upon arrival at one of the conveniently located tour departure/rental shops. Guests will be fitted for your choice of bike — hybrid, beach cruiser, road bike or mountain bike– and supplied with helmet (which we highly recommend, but is optional for adults) and a lock. Then you’re off to explore the area.

The Monterey Peninsula has a fabulous Recreation Trail that follows the shoreline above Cannery Row and around the marina. It winds along the coast from the Aquarium to Lover’s Point and then a bike lane picks up along the rocky shores area of Pacific Grove’s coastline. This bike lane leads you along the shore to the entrance to 17-Mile Drive, and upon entering Del Monte Forest, you can pedal in the bike lane along 17-Mile Drive to The Lodge at Pebble Beach or Bird and Seal Rock. There are many awesome spots for a picnic lunch or simply a photo opportunity. You’ll ride out with the ocean on one side and then return with the ocean on your other side. It’s breathtaking and beautiful!

The path and bike lanes are beginner to intermediate level with only a few hills along the way, depending how far you ride.

Bike rentals are available at all of our shops (see locations) and online booking is available.

Cannery Row

Your guide will take you on the recreational trail along Cannery Row, past the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and along the beautiful Peninsula coastline. Riders will experience first hand the historical Point Pinos Lighthouse, Asilomar State Beach, 17 Mile Drive through Del Monte Forest, and scenic Bird and Seal Rock. Bicycle tours are scheduled at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. everday but if you have a group, we will schedule it around your time!  All levels of experience can be accomodated from beginners to long distance riders.  We have a variety of bike styles — sure to find one that fits you.  Bring a group or just a few friends!
